I finished the portrait, and mailed it off yesterday. I'm not crazy about it, but I am never crazy about it right after I finish. It takes a week or two for me to like it. I think that is because I have just spent so much time staring closely at it, while fending off distractions.

I totally know what you mean about needing a little space to appreciate what you've done. I don't do anything like you do but I have experienced the "walk away" and it is always better than you remembered when you come back.

PS - I don't necessarily even like to fish but several of my favorite pictures ever are of our fishing escapades....
